The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has decided not to prosecute the Metropolitan Police officer who put a 15 year old boy in a Hackney rubbish bin last October.

Announcing the decision on 6th April 2006 The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) did not specify whether CPS had dumped the case on the "insufficient evidence" test or the "not in the public interest test". IPCC are now asking the Metropolitan Police to propose what disciplinary action should be taken.

They are also asking the police to indicate any lessons to be learned from the incident. Answers on a postcard...
