Working at Fawcett and Pattni Solicitors

Whether you wish to join our administrative department as a receptionist, typist or administration clerk or join the legal staff as a trainee solicitor or caseworker, life at Fawcett & Pattni Solicitors will be hard work but rewarding.

All vacant positions will be advertised on this page as more staff become necessary to drive our expansion.

We have four vacancies for caseworkers/paralegals who will primarily work in the family law department. Work may also involve some civil litigation/personal injury, crime and residential/commercial property. Successful candidates may be required to work in Walsall or Birmingham City Centre.

Applicants are expected to have completed the LPC. This is because we recruit caseworkers with a view to offering training contracts at a future date based on ability.

Applicants must have the ability to think on their feet and work within a high pressure environment.

Applicants must already be familiar with the basic concepts of family law and practice.

Applicants should already have sufficient knowledge to communicate with clients and advise them adequately on less complex aspects of family law.

Closing date for applications is 30th June 2009.

Please send your CV and covering letter to our offices or to .

It is not the firm's policy to offer training contracts to outside applicants. We only offer training contracts to caseworkers at the firm after they have demonstrated their ability to do a sufficient volume of good quality work. Caseworker vacancies are regularly advertised on this page.

We have a vacancy for an experienced family law solicitor to work in a very busy family law team.

It is a minimum requirement that applicants be members of the Family Law Panel.

Applicants must have the ability to think on their feet and work within a high pressure environment, providing an exceptional quality of service to clients while also being expected to undertake supervisory duties.

Applicants must have experience at conducting cases at the County Court themselves- such experience at advocacy to include at least having represented clients at directions hearings and on occasional trials/final hearings.

Applicants must be able to fit into a team and take direction and advice from senior colleagues.

Applications must be able to comply with existing procedures at the firm and any requirements imposed by the Legal Services Commission or Solicitors' Regulation Authority.

Total package including basic salary and bonuses up to £41,000 p.a.

Offers will not be made to successful applicants without a reference from their existing employer giving specific details as to their output and quality of work.

Closing date for applications is 30th July 2009.
